Still no news of of lanscape messaging. Is this something they will ever provide the option for?
Also, i don’t see anything here about how to delete mulitple emails at once—a huge inconvenience in my book. Shit, even the reviewer has a 130 emails—about half of my 369 total. It’s painful at this point.
22 People
Tonight we’re hosting New Years. And it’s shaping up to be crazy. 22 peeps, 11 of which are under the age of 9. All of this, and 3/4 of my family is currently battling a cold.
Here is the menu thus far:
2 Lasagne’s (one Turkey, one plain for my Vegetarian Sister-In-Law) via Ina’s Recipe
Pizza (for the rug rats)
Crab Dip (kinda goes against the italian theme, but hey...

greg, an old college roomie, wrote a cool piece on being able to tag friends more effectively on facebook. — themarkpike
This guy’s article is excellent, he can better articulate my feelings regarding Facebook than I ever could.

WOW.
This is exactly what my project Zirrp is all about. I’m glad to see i am not the only one out there frustrated with the current state of...
Would you consider it "following" or "stalking"
And of course i mean innocent “stalking”.
Never the less, in tumblrs’ case (as with many others, like twitter) they use the term “following” as a way to track others. But to me, i typically associate the term “follow” with some form of “leadership”.
So the question i have is, what’s your take? Would you consider the process here on...

Tom Naughton replies to the blame-McDonald’s crowd by losing weight on a fat-laden fast-food diet while demonstrating that nearly everything we’ve been told about obesity and healthy eating is wrong.
Saturated fat doesn’t cause heart disease — but sugars, starches and processed vegetable oils do.

A Look Back on 2007 - Part 1
“I am actually in love with two men at once. I THOUGHT THAT WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE POSSIBLE!!!! WTF?????? Well, it shouldn’t be possible, because human beings (other than Big Love) aren’t into that shit.”
— juliaallison - from an archived diary entry
We need to remember that, although we are human beings, the only difference that separates us from other living creatures, is...
Apple + Last.fm = Music Heaven?
Anyone else think this would be a match made in music heaven? I could see this as huge way for Apple to extend it’s stong hold on the personal music market while giving music lovers a more effective way to share their music tastes.
When should you put your dog down? - By Jon Katz -... →
My Parents are in this position now with one of their dogs. Speaking from experience, this is absolutely one of the toughest, most heart breaking decisions any pet owner can be faced with. And it is a gut wrenching process that you will never forget. Ever.
Should you find yourself in this situation, it’s important to realize that the time will never feel “right” to make this...
Social Design Best Practices -Google →
I came across this one via necrodome. Looks like google has the idea. I guess we’ll have to see what they do with OpenSocial
Facebook as a town square
I disagree with Alex on this one. I have a number of Facebook friends that some would consider obscenely high, but which does not fall obscenely far up the bell curve in my own social circles. (Okay, at present it stands at 474.) Maybe around 10 per cent of these are actual “friends” (defined as people I make an effort to see on a regular basis), but that misses the point. The reason I...
Zirrp - Progress Report & Insights
Yesterday was a productive day for Zirrp. And I am stoked right now at the potential of this project.
In some respects, i see it shaping up to become a real world alternative to MySpace & Facebook. And what i mean by “real world” is - more relevant features and content to the end user (a critical aspect that i have found to be absent from today’s “social...
Early Risers
For 33 years i have never quite understood the reasons why the men of our elder generation enjoyed being early risers. I used to shudder just thinking about getting up before 7:00 AM. But of course, this was before i had children.
Now, its as clear as day.

I have just realized....
that I am a tumblr “re-blog” whore.
How did this happen to me? I grew up with such a normal life. But yet, here i sit, all alone, cold and disgusted by my own re-blog vomit. Where did i go wrong?
Is it that I am i too opinionated? Do i have too much i think others need to see? Or am i just an information slut looking for attention?
PS. These are rhetorical questions, peeps. No...
genre-specific
I left work at noon to get beer for my new years party, pack for leaving tomorrow and entirely clean my dirty apartment. So far I’ve eaten lunch and taken a 4 hour nap. And now I will grant Alex’s request and make a genre-specific list of favorite movies…(I’m disqualifying my overall top 10 mentioned earlier)

Doc makes some interesting points here. And i agree with his definition of “social networks” these days. Reality is, they are in fact, no different than AOL back in the day. Except, as Doc points out, done better.
Christmas is a secular holiday
I’m sick of religious media commentators being up in arms about the perceived secularization of Christmas. I agree that materialism is out of control in our culture, but humans all over the world have been celebrating the winter solstice time since long before Jesus. Roland Martin recently said, “we should continue to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.” Well,...
Personal Feedback
I’m standing in line at 7-11 picking up my usual supplies - 4pk redbull, 12 pk Coke & some Turkish silvers - when i notice a young girl two spots ahead of me. (Actually, truth is, i noticed her when i walked in. But it was only when i was in line that i had an opportunity to really check her out.)

Spec promo video for Baltimore Hustlers’ VIP Club. This was shot and edited by my company using just a standard HD cam. The goal was to show them a live example, versus a typical story board. Imagine what it could have looked like with a budget higher than $0.00.

interesting iPhone feature
this may be old news to some…but I just realized you can access the iTunes controls via the locked screen. (the one where it says slide to unlock.)
To do this, tap the home key twice rapidly as if you were double clicking. You should then see the controls up top.
Vick sentenced to 23 months for dogfighting -... →
Amen. As an owner of large, powerful dogs, this verdict gives me hope that the trash of our world may think twice before harming an innocent companion.
I like what the judge had to say to Vick regarding his apology. Athletes and Celebrities need to remember that the very people who helped give them their fame, are the same people they need to set an example for. Like it or not, this is part of...

Dude…pretty funny. Although two things baffle me about this:
1) the amount of decent looking chicks that are participating. And 2) the fact that the founder of this Jedi camp is absolutely terrible with his “saber”.
One would think, after 5 years of Jedi Training, this guy...
