Us guys think we have it so tough having to “work” all day while our stay-at-home mom’s get to hang with our kids. But…

after spending the day with my 2yr old twins i’ll be the first to admit that we don’t truly know what “work” is.

just me and the kids today. Mom is away to do some freelance project consulting. I have no clue what to do with 2yr olds on a WED

I find it interesting that I feel more refreshed after 3 hrs sleep than I do a full 8 hrs.

I’m seriously dissapointed at the lack of creativity of some so-called designers.

All in a days work...
It seems as though i may have secured our first round of Angel money for 250K. At the moment i am pretty stoked. While this is probably more than we need at the moment, it sure will come in handy down the road when we start to build out the infrastructure further and add additional tools (eg. iPhone app, etc.). That said, it’s never a done deal until the check has cleared. Keep your fingers...

Provigil Vs Adrafinil
Yesterday marked my first day of adrafinil testing. Here are the results: 9:00 AM Took 600mg Adrafinil (equivalent to 200mg Provigil/modafinil) . No real change in wakefulness. At 11:00 i still felt slightly tired. Also i didn’t feel the slow mood transformation typically associated with my Provigil doses. It’s important to note that my typical dose of Provigil is 400mg/day. Usually...

Why were American Pilots in World War II given... →
science: The pilots were told that if they dropped the sphere into the ocean, their current position could be worked out by allies in the region and they would be rescued. But the sphere was too heavy to float and contained no electronics, or anything for that matter, inside. So how did it work? Turns out the spheres were made with a specific thickness so they would be crushed by the ocean’s...

Provigil Follow up
A few days ago i posted about my saga with Provigil (aka. Modafinil). In that post i mentioned that i would be trying out it’s sister drug Adrafinil (a less potent, less expensive but more accesible alternative) which can be ordered from Europe sans prescription. As a follow up to that post, today will be my first day testing the new drug out. So far, all i can report on is the speed in...

This is excellent news for twitter. Now, if they could just buy themselves some realiable uptime or new infrastructure… they wouldn’t keep getting blog slammed. -Alex fred-wilson: There aren’t many surprises in web technology given how well the media and the blogs cover the sector. And it’s even more so with our portfolio company Twitter which seems to attract a lot of…

Well... this explains a lot
In a post the other day i ranted about my recent run in’s with a tick bite and pink-eye. Turns out, one might be a result of the other. Here’s an excerpt i found on the University of Illinois eye & ear website. Dumb fucking luck! How does lyme disease affect the eye? Fortunately, involvement of the eye is uncommon in lyme disease. But when the eyes can be affected in many...

I think this is a trend we will start seeing more of from the a-list bloggers. There is no doubt (even for the smallest bloggers out there) that consistently adding, updating and responding to posts can be a gruesome task. For me, i have tried so many times to maintain a decent blog—but inevitably i found myself dropping the ball to focus on the more important pieces in my life (eg. my...

Go Figure
For the past year and a half i been taking a drug called provigil —a wakefulness promoting agent. I began taking it to help keep me awake and focused during the day since my sleep apnea left me less and less functioinal as a human being. For me, this drug has been amazing!! It has helped address my severe ADD in addition to keeping me alert all day long. The only drawback to this drug has...

So far this year...
I have managed to be bitten by a tick (which resulted in classic lyme disease syptoms) and contracted Viral Pink Eye. The latter of which produced a fever of 102.8 last night and confined me to my bed from 7:00Pm until 8:00am. The thing that blows my mind about this is 1) I very rarely get sick and 2) I very rarely leave my studio these days (except for the occasional trip to 7-11 and a day here...

Our Official Development Blog
Finally, after months of procrastination i have set up the development blog for urban revurb. As you know , in the past i have been using this tumblog to update friends and followers on the project. However, as things begin to pick up, my plan is to use the new blog as means to share what’s going on. Plus, this way, most of you won’t have to be subjected to my boring updates, rants and...

Good Teams - a reblog from funkyboy
funkyboy: how important is to work with a good team, with which you “feel fine”? To me it is fundamental. My Take: I agree 110%. Although, i would replace fundamental with “it’s the difference between success and failure”. In my experience, good/great teams engage each other, challenge ideas and ultimately deliver collaborative solutions. Poor teams, argue, bitch and point...

Angry Businesses Organize Anti-Yelp Websites. This... →
This is excellent news for my project. One thing i hope to do differently than Yelp is enable the local businesses to engage their critics (and fans) rather than alienating those voices. In my opinion, this approach creates a much healthier relationiship for all involved and, at the same time, enables a business to grow from their mistakes, not suffer indefinitely.
