who, after killing a random bug/fly/gnat/12ft spider, leaves it on display in hopes that his/her carcass will send a message to any of his/her cohorts?
But more importantly, am i the only one who believes it might really work?
It's not what you know....
We’ve all heard it before. Maybe we’ve even mumbled it ourselves — like after seeing a couple of the Bouncers friends waved through the ropes while we get to stand 33 Deep playing pocket pool waiting for capacity to drop. Or perhaps for you, it was when you found out the CEO’s Neice (from his wifes side) got that opening in HR you desparately wanted.

Is Adobe really Adobecast?
By now i’m sure most of you know how i feel about Adobe. But just as a quick reminder - I DESPISE them. However now, after this whole ordeal with my “still pending from 3 months ago $1400 return”, my hatred towards them is now equal to the white hot intensity of 1000 suns

I Have been having some email dialogue with Fred Wilson at Union Square Ventures about Urban Revurb. Hopefully things keep moving forward.

Adobe Return Policy
I find it extremely odd (not to mention, terribly inconvenient) that adobe requires you to sign and fax a letter of software destruction back to them before they will credit your account.

For some of the type elements in Urban Revurb we really wanted to tap into our library of typography—far beyond the standard web “safe” options . So with that in mind, we came across this handy little app that enables you to convert any text into and image of the font you’d like to use. Unlike other products in the wild, the great part about this utility (aside from it...

Rolling with a new theme.
I wish i had time to design my own tumblr theme, but unfortunately with all that is going on right now, i don’t think that wouldn’t be a wise use of my time.
So, instead, i did the next best thing and slightly tweaked TINAT Mono by Sid05. A big shout out to Sid for an elegant, clean and typography focused layout. I look forward to seeing any new work he puts together.

Sheww. Long day so far. Been doing some promoting for urban Revurb. Also got some feedback on our GUI designs. Great reviews so far!
Goodrec demo on TC
I just started watching the demo of Goodrec at TC50. As you can imagine, i was curious to how (if at all) we might compete in the near future. So far, from what i can see there are some small similarities but most revolve around “trust” level of recommendations.
Fortunately for Urban Revurb, i still think people are missing the point when it comes to online ratings and reviews. Most i...

it appears the source of my “toddleporn” traffic comes from a jakob Lodwick post that was reblogged. I feel sorry for the disgusting bastard that searched that keyword— in many ways.
A long winded reply to a comment on Techcrunch
Someone on TC, in response to a new start-up called Goodrec, asked how they figured that consumers weren’t happy with the current recommendation engines currently available on the internet. This was my longwinded response.

yikes! talk about “rubbing it in”. IMHO there is no need for this unless GA (goals against) counts towards something. Even then, it would probably be safe to say you could stop after 20 (even that would be cruel). If i were anyone on that Bulgarian team i would promptly burn all of my equipment and move as close to the equator as humanly possible. In fact, i don’t think i would...
1st day of Preschool
My babies just left home for their first day of preschool. At the moment i am many emotions.
On the one hand, i am exteremly excited that they will have an opportunity to experience what it’s like to connect with other children their own age. However, on the other, there is an unsettling pit in my stomach.
When i think about my uneasy feelings surrounding today, i would say that 50% of it...

With urban revurb one of the most challenging aspects to the design was the limited selection of “web standard” typography. For most, the basic choices available work just fine. However, for me personally as a designer—and the blogazine vision i had for the GUI—the typical sizes and choices just didn’t cut it. ( That said, we did use a lot of standard, cross browser...

A great piece from NY Times on the social media landscape. Some of the challenges and facts about our social attention span outlined in this article are some of the ones we have been focused on addressing with Urban Revurb. Specifically, the segregration between our public, personal and private lives. Hopefully we will be able to streamline much of this information overload in a way that...
